The first thing I think of when I think of diamonds, is Marilyn Monroe in 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' singing 'Diamonds Are a Girls Best Friend.' So here is my tribute to diamonds and Marilyn.
Pierced and enameled copper with a Prisma-colored and watercolored picture of Marilyn under a sheet of mica with "...a kiss on the hand may seem quite continental..." stamped on the handmade chain. Riveted together.

May challenge is: My favorite color
When I was a kid my favorite color was red, then when I got older my favorite color turned into turquoise. These earrings combine those 2 colors in torch-fire enamels. I still like red a lot, but for some unexplainable reason turquoise has taken over. My dining room and kitchen walls are painted turquoise.

Our October challenge is: The Twilight Zone!
On October 2nd 1959, the first "Twilight Zone" was premiered on television.
My inspiration for this theme was taken from the episode "Living Doll"... "I'm Talky Tina and I don't think I like you..."
Pierced out of copper, then formed using chasing and repousse, and enameled. This piece will be locked in a drawer, especially at night!!
The doll used to play Talky Tina was a doll named Brikette that was made by the Vogue doll company. Brikette is a non-talker, except in the Twilight Zone; however, the inspiration for Tina was Chatty Cathy, a talking doll manufactured by Mattel. Cathy and Tina were both voiced by June Foray, who is most recognized as the voices of Granny, Rocky the Flying Squirrel and most female characters in Looney Tunes and The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show.
