A QUIETNESS, EARTHY, STRONG
From deep within, it touches something in our core that really can't be verbalized - it takes our breath away

Primitive people didn’t have science to explain the world to them. There were many dangers and they had many fears. So to protect themselves from these dangers and to feel more courageous, they created magical symbols, charms, and amulets to help them overcome the world around them. I really don’t think that things are all that much different today.
My favorite is the evil eye. I have made a series of amulets/jewelry to be worn to protect from the malignant powers of the 'Evil Eye.' The most effective amulet against the evil eye has always been, according to tradition, an image of the eye itself. I use either turquoise stones set into copper or turquoise enamel to represent the eye.

Song of Amergin
A relic is described as an object surviving from an earlier time, especially one of historical or sentimental interest. The idea takes many forms for me... it takes on the idea of an object found in an archeological dig, something magical, something worn - used, touched, held, by many hands and still survives - a little more soft around the edges, but still maintaining the reverence of its origin.
