The Evil Eye, one of the oldest and widely believed myths. Wearing blue glass in in the shape of an eye is said to ward off any malevolence that may be cast your way. I grew up in a Greek family where the impression of the 'evil eye' was passed down to me. This piece has the look and feel of an ancient relic.
I place the metal into a bowl of pitch and create a chase a textured surface using various punches. I make an impression to fill with blue enamel to represent the eye. The outside and back of the pendant is enameled with a transparent enamel to give it the look of something ancient.

The pendant is approximately 1" x1" and is on an 18" bead chain with a heat patina.
