This month's Etsy Metal theme is diamonds.
The first thing I think of is Marilyn Monroe in 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' singing 'Diamonds Are a Girls Best Friend.' So here is my tribute to diamonds and Marilyn.
Pierced and enameled copper with a Prisma-colored and watercolored picture of Marilyn under a sheet of mica with "...a kiss on the hand may seem quite continental..." stamped on the handmade chain, with brass. Riveted together.
To insure safe delivery to you, this ring will be carefully wrapped inside a gift box tied with raffia. Then packaged and shipped USPS first class. Cost also includes delivery confirmation.
Enameling is the art of fusing glass to metal. Enamel (glass) is crushed to a powder like the consistency of fine sand. This powder is then applied to a metal surface. Then the piece is heated either in a kiln, or with a hand-held torch. I prefer using a torch. More coats, normally different colors, can be applied. Sometimes 10-20 firings are required to bring about the desired results.
